Summary:

Create highly usable intuitive interfaces and engaging mobile experiences through designing the next generation of mobile websites & apps across multiple platforms. Conceptualize and create intuitive, engaging, and brand-consistent mobile experiences for our global websites, optimizing features and functionality to take full advantage of the various platforms we support. This includes mobile and desktop platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate and collaborate in concept development and design ideation to help with mobile creative strategy.
  • Communicate design solutions to management and teammates, including engineers, product managers, partners, etc.
  • Demonstrate work product that utilizes clean, simple, usable interfaces.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Knowledge of JavaScript capabilities (i.e., what can be done on mobile with AJAX and emerging mobile JS libraries) and proficient to expert in: Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Exhibit excellent skills in graphic design, typography, palette development, intuitive layout, and a pixel-level attention to detail.
  • Experience and knowledge of creating wireframes a big plus.
  • Experience and knowledge in PHP, Xamarin, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, IOS, SQL and Python
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual/Multilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
  • Creativity, Flexibility, Detail & Deadline-Oriented, Self-motivated, Positive work ethic and attitude.

Desired Experience:

Native app design and fully native apps on iPhone and on multiple platforms, especially Android. Experience with Native app controls: how standard controls (like the tab bar on iPhone) work, and what the constraints are (also related: familiarity with Apple guidelines). Experience with cross-platform interoperability & graceful degradation: ideally based on device detection and device capabilities (e.g. WURFL device description repository). Experience with Webviews: integration of mobile web pages into native apps. Experience with HTML 5 and CSS3 and JavaScript particularly pseudo-native functions like CSS transitions, and how they work when integrating native views and Webviews. Experience with international audiences a plus.

Additional Information: 

Salary:                  $12 hr start, $15 hr 120-days

Location:             Boca Raton, FL

Experience:        2-year minimum experience in mobile web and app design, preferred

Education:        FAU with related discipline: Interaction, Graphic or Interface design.
